KING KY-ENIE

A Native of St. Anns parish of Jamaica, W.I., Ky-Enie has been turning out audiences from Jamaica to Canada to the USA to Europe. With his hard-edged vocal style, lyrical versatility, and explosive stage presence, he always delivers, whether its one person in the audience or a million. That's what he does, He delivers.

He counts among his inspirations the late Bob Marley, Buju Banton, and Tracy Chapman. When he is performing on stage, he wants his audience to, feel the positive side of the music and where he is coming from. Kyenie Stated in a recent interview "I  like to make the audience feel the spiritual side of the music as well as the party vibe."

Throughout the years in the industry Ky-Enie has been favored to work with producers such as Ed Robinson, Robert Livingston, Christopher Birch, Shane Brown and Goldenchyl to name a few. He credits them all with helping him bring out different sides of his musical gifts.
Ky-Enie's songs can be heard on VP Records Riddim Driven series: The Don't Wanna Be Alone, on the My Baby riddim spent 8 weeks on the Top Ten Reggae charts. VP also released Times Rough on the Return to Big Street riddim, and Mampie Size on the famed Wild 2 Nite riddim.

His hotter-than-hot performances have blessed stages from the Elite Ark and Footprints to Miami's Bicentennial Park. He has been seen on Irie Jamboree since its inception and he recently performed at both the UniverSoul Circus half-time show and at Reeboks Grand Prix Track and Field event at Randalls Islands Icahn Stadium.
Fans cant wait to hear more from this artist who has opened for headliners such as Shaggy, Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton and Beres Hammond. His first single Wings of an Angel, a self-produced ballad, also receives consistent radio play on Irie Jam 93.5 FM in New York and WRJR in Jamaica, and achieved Top Ten status in the U.S. Virgin Islands. His single Rain can be heard in the new remade for theatre version of Shottas. His single Lambsbread, is made number one on the Germany Reggae Top Ten charts. Ky-Enie's humble nature, along with his fierce determination and uplifting attitude, has clearly positioned him as a force in Reggae music!

The name Ky-Enie (pronounced Ki-eeny) was given to him by a Rasta man who saw the spirit of a warrior in him, and he proves that old man right at every turn. A true expression of Reggaes versatility, his live performances take you on a journey that is rooted in Reggae but makes stopovers in Dancehall, Rock, Acoustic Soul, and sometimes even a little Hip Hop. His blend of spiritual vibes and hardcore truths shows his listener the depth of his understanding.

COLLIE BUDDZ EPK VIDEO : PLAYBACK AVAILABLE 1/18 THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2011

Collie Buddz announces January 18th 2011 as the release date for his highly anticipated EP - “Playback.”  The single and music video, "Holiday" sets the tone for the first official Collie Buddz release since his critically acclaimed self-titled debut which hit the top 100 on the Billboard charts in 2007.  The new single has received support from tastemaker DJs like Hot 97's DJ Enuff (New York City), Sirius/XM's DJ Whoo Kidd, ZIP 103's ZJ Elektra (Jamaica) and online urban mega-portals Thisis50.com and WorldStarHipHop.com among other sites within days of it's release.  To reciprocate the years of overwhelming support, Buddz has decided to make the entire EP available for free on his website, www.CollieBuddz.com.
Always the perfectionist, Collie has spent much of the last three years since his last release making new music. Collie proudly says of the process, “The EP was entirely written, recorded and engineered in Bermuda with my brother Smokey at Harper Digital Studios.”  The project features an array of hand-picked producers, including Supa Dups (of Jamaica's Black Chiney Sound System) and Baby Dee, whose beats compliment Collie's progressive style.
Fresh off the groundbreaking “Legalize It Tour” with Slightly Stoopid and Cypress Hill, as well as solo runs across the United States and Internationally, Collie has maintained a rigorous touring schedule in preparation for this release. Heralded for his live stage show with a full band and unique ability to connect with the crowd, Buddz is excited to bring his music directly to his fan base via his website.

More Buju drama - Reggae artist could face additional charges

Buju’s lawyer says new indictment not permissible
BY PAUL HENRY Crime/Court Co-ordinator
WHEN Buju Banton is retried in a United States federal court next month, he could be faced with four counts of cocaine and gun charges instead of the two for which he was tried last September.
In an attempt to increase the likelihood of a conviction, Prosecutor James Preston secured a new grand jury indictment late last year, listing three counts of cocaine-related charges against the four-time Grammynominated reggae artiste, whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie. The sole weapon charge remains.

“The chief danger raised by a multiplicitous indictment is the possibility that the defendant will receive more than one sentence for a single offence,” Markus said, referring to the case of the United States v Swaim, in his application seeking to strike out the new indictment. But Banton’s legal team, led by David Oscar Markus, is fighting the new indictment on the grounds that it is not permissible for new charges to be brought on old information and that the weapon charge was a violation of the Fifth Amendment.
An indictment is multiplicitous if it charges a single offence in more than one count.
The artiste was tried last September on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, and aiding and abetting the possession of a firearm during a drug-trafficking offence. However, the 12-member panel of jurors was unable to reach a verdict following three days of deliberations. The trial lasted a week in the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court in Tampa, Florida.
But should the new indictment stand, Banton will be tried for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offence, and using the wires to facilitate a drugtrafficking offense.
Both sides are now awaiting a ruling from the court on the matter.
If convicted, Banton faces up to 20 years’ imprisonment. The United States Government would also seek to seize the artiste’s assets. A date for the retrial should be set today.
In the application seeking to have the superseding indictment dismissed, Markus noted that there are two fatal flaws. Firstly, the attorney noted, counts one, two and four are multiplicitous; and secondly, count three — the weapon charge — violates the double jeopardy clause of the Fifth Amendment, which stipulates that “[N]or shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb.”
The violation, the attorney said, arises from the fact that there was not sufficient evidence in the last trial to convict his client on the gun charge.
The defence team had, at the conclusion of the first trial, argued for the gun charge to be thrown out, but to no avail.
Regarding the other counts, Markus noted that the government has only alleged one drug transaction, and as such “it should only be permitted to charge that set of facts one time”.
The singer/deejay was arrested December 2009 following a sting operation by United States drug enforcement agents in which two other men — James Mack and Ian Thomas — were nabbed earlier. A gun was found in Mack’s car when he was arrested.
Banton's legal team is contending that he was entrapped by the United States Government. Banton was not on the scene when the men were arrested.

Every Thing Under The UNIVERSE: Foxy back at it!!!!!!!

Every Thing Under The UNIVERSE: Foxy back at it!!!!!!!

Foxy back at it!!!!!!!

Recent reports from confirmed sources claims Brooklyn Rapper, Ex- lil Kim rival Foxy Brown, Is beefing again this time with current management Platinum Camp Production$ (PNP.)

In an email received from PNP entitled Water Gate Leak. It is stated that Foxy is upset over the leak of her come back track called the Christmas Massacre.

PNP stated this in the E-mail "Platinum Camp and Nightlife productions strongly dispute the recent claims being made by Foxy Brown. The whole world already knew there would be a new, OFFICIAL Foxy track coming out by Christmas because Foxy herself announced it everyday via her Twitter page. The song, "U aint ruff enough" previously titled, "Christmas Massacre" was supposed to be released on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, we recently got word the record was somehow hacked from a supposedly "secure" server, and then leaked to various sources around the net. The same situation is currently happening with Grammy Award winning Eminem and Kanye West's new material, and is sadly the nature of today's industry.
We fully understand where Foxy would be upset with something getting leaked, an artist of her stature certainly deserves better, and we are as disappointed and angry as she is. By the same token, we had a previous release date fully sanctioned by Foxy Brown for December 24, 2010 for the OFFICIAL - NOT LEAKED version of "u ain't ruff enuff" (The leaked version is NOT the finished production).
Her objections today are the first time we have been contacted in any manner about any doubts by her in regards to the aforementioned official release. We at Platinum Camp and Nightlife feel like this is coming totally out of the blue, especially after all the time and money that we have invested in the Foxy Brown rebirth project.
We only wish she would have contacted us face to face so these issues could have been handled privately and not played out in the press. We, of course, still have Foxy's best interest at heart and would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible, but we will also vigorously defend ourselves and our reputations from any unwarranted attacks."
